€7.5 Million in New Funding for Research Infrastructures Serving the Entire R&I Ecosystem

The Research and Innovation Foundation announces that it has secured additional funding of €7.5 million for a new funding program, “Open Access Research Infrastructure,” with the aim of strengthening the country’s research capabilities through the acquisition of specialized cutting-edge equipment, which will be accessible to the research and business community.

 

The program is open for research organizations and concerns the financing of the procurement and installation of research infrastructure equipment, which will be utilized by the Research and Innovation ecosystem through open access policies.

 

Total budget for the call: €7,500,000

Maximum funding per project: €500,000

Deadline for submission of proposals: July 1, 2025

 

It is noted that, within the framework of the Call, the submission of the following documents is required:

  • Open Access Policy
  • At least two (2) Letters of Interest from Ecosystem Stakeholders
  • Equipment cost estimate based on three (3) comparable offers

 

The call is part of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP) and will be implemented according to a strict timetable, as the Plan is due to be completed in June 2026.

 

Securing additional funding is a testament to the credibility and effectiveness of RIF as an R&D funding agency.
